One of our mantras is that "a picture paints 1,000 words." Nothing is more true than when we create a video experience for books. Movie trailers are a mainstay in the film industry, and for good reason. Well, why not the book industry? There are a few, but they are mostly relegated to best-selling authors with large publishers. We think that is a shame as we believe that every author deserves a well-produced book trailer. The moving images and music tell a fantastic story that the book description alone simply cannot tell. Be it a young adult fantasy fiction title or a self-help book in the personal transformation space, a book trailer ad will motivate your prospective readers to seek out your book and discover why it is a must-read! "Miss Mabel's School for Girls" (Fiction)
This was the first fiction trailer we produced back in late 2021. Looking to create samples, we discovered this popular title at Goodreads and got to work. Once done we reached out to the book's author Katie Cross who readily engaged with us. After some fantastic feedback from Katie, we revised the trailer per her recommendations and a new book trailer was born! Katie has continued to journey with us as we have built our business and her input along the way has been invaluable! "Walking in Mud" (Nonfiction)
Author Steve Giblin has written a fascinating book on how to cope with the new normal we all find ourselves living due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Steve draws on his more than 20 years' experience as a Navy Seal to offer wisdom to his readers on how to survive this new journey that the world has embarked upon. Based on a 106 word narrative that Steve submitted, we quickly created a book trailer that captures the essence of what "Walking in Mud" is about. When we took on the task of creating a book trailer for USA Today Bestselling author Diana Orgain, we did our best to not be intimidated. Diana's book "Bundle of Trouble" posed some interesting challenges for us. Loaded with lots of humor, we decided to go the fun route and create a custom "comic-strip meets video" experience. "The Body Keeps The Score" (Nonfiction)
This book trailer was the very first one we created, though we have updated it since we produced the original version. In mid-2021 we were simply converting article text to captioned video when we had the epiphany that we could do the very same thing for books. So we decided to go to Amazon and create a captioned short for the first book that appeared on our search. The New York Times Bestseller "The Body Keeps the Score" was that book, and we immediately got to work. It didn't take us long to recognize that we could do this, and do it well, and a business was born! Though we have not yet connected with the author on this particular trailer we still want to put it on display for the world to see. It is another good example of what we can do with a nonfiction book. Though it is over one minute long, we do plan on cutting a 30 second version at some point. As well, if we can help get the word out about this fantastic book on dealing with trauma, even better. So sit back and enjoy the experience. And if you or someone you know is dealing with trauma, don't hesitate to pick up the book and give it a read, or recommend it to others. It would be an honor for us to be the catalyst that might lead to some needed healing in someone's life. "Gathering of the Tribe" (Fiction)
We created this for a new author who has yet to publish her book. She had not yet finished up her book description so we asked her to simply send us whatever synopsis she had at the time. She was interested in incorporating some quotes into the trailer, so we did just that, cutting together this short but powerful quote-driven video. When the work was done she was pleased, saying "You have a great idea, here. It's so exciting to see the book come to life!...I really like how you incorporated my requests. I can see these being part of my marketing plan for sure. Thank you so much for your work!" This trailer was created for a book that is still in the process of development. It was actually the first book trailer we created. The great response we received from the people who viewed the trailer inspired us to dive into doing more trailers for authors. At only 82 words, this book's synopsis isn't a description of what the self-help book is about, but rather select quotes and phrases from the book that we knew would inspire people to want to read more. "Karen Way" (Fiction)
Written for a the young adult audience, this dystopian novel was the first fiction book that we created a trailer for. Loosely based on a true story, the novel deals with a myriad of dark themes that made it challenging to find the right images that would effectively support the narrative. Peter Vanek's direction was critical in helping our editors create a trailer that tells the right story, supporting the idea that it is not only important that the author submit a quality narrative, but that they provide additional context and a clear vision of what it is that they want their trailer to be. The final verdict? According to Peter - "Love the video! The book trailer authoring system was easy to use. Submit my text and boom, in no time the team created a video that I am thrilled with. The trailer captures the essence of my book in a way that a text description simply can't. What an awesome marketing tool!"
